Phoenix

Phoenix is a very lightweight hardwood which comes from a Parasol tree. This tree can grow to full height (45ft) in only 8 years! The eight rings, (one for each year of growth), produce a distinctive character and grain reminiscent of oak that shows even when painted.

The timber is then solution soaked for approximately 30 days, after which the moisture is then vacuumed out leaving a strong, but very lightweight, bleached wood. When this process has finished the wood is left an almost white colour, which then means that we can offer a wide range of stained finishes aswell as painted colours.
